Comments: A war bride married a hometown boy
and brought the Rocket Pizza recipe with her from Italy. She
opened the Rocket Inn in 1946 and has served Southwest Nebraska's
favorite pizza ever since. Our customers come from all over
the state and further to have our very unique, different pizza.
It has always been served with a homemade hot sauce, and about
50% of our customers eat it with kraut. We serve about 500
pizzas per week, even though we are located in a rural farming
community. The sale would include 6 lots, and the business
real estate including a 3 bedroom, 2 bath trailer house and
nice fenced yard on the property. The business will seat 150
people and has an outdoor covered, fenced in beer garden.
The best feature of our business is it's potential to be expanded
to franchises or to other avenues of expansion. It continues
to amaze us that everyplace we go, people know about Rocket
Pizza. When locals come back for holidays, etc., they always
take home several frozen take n bakes, and this is a part
of the business which could easily be expanded also. Dave
and I have owned the restaurant for 13 years and there were
only 2 other owners before us. We are in our 60's and Dave
is in poor health and this is the only reason we are selling.
We also serve lunch every Monday at the Sale Barn in McCook,
Ne. There is no overhead at that location, so it is an easy
extra benefit. We also do catering, but have cut back on that
because of Dave's health, but the business is certainly there.
The sale would also include out catering truck which includes
a fully installed and vented pizza oven. Indianola is a wonderful
place to live. Right now is pheasant season and hunters come
from all over the U. S. to hunt in this prime location. We
also have excellent turkey, quail, dove, goose and duck hunting.
Also, there are lakes in every direction with great fishing.
The schools here are first class and have a teacher student
ratio of one teacher for every 14 children. Our elementary
school won a national award last year and we have an exceptionally
large number of graduates go on to college. Our High School
athletic program is progressive and successful. The kids really
have an opportunity to excel since they are not competing
with 100's of athletes as happens in the city. The cost of
living in Red Willow County is very low. You can purchase
