Comments: I started New England Watertech
over 20 years ago and built a small but strong and consistent
base of dedicated customers. About 10 years ago I sold the
commercial division with an agreement to retain the residential
in order to eliminate the overhead, employees etc. As a
result I was left with about 235 active residential customers
under the New England Watertech name. The focus was on quality
and not quantity in order to keep overhead to a minimum
and manageable by one person, full time. Although it is
small, it is a great opportunity with a solid base for someone
who has the experience and knowledge of expanding and developing
a business. I have not advertised or promoted at all. Every
customer has been through word of mouth. It generates an
average of $300 per service call each year. The installed
price for an R/O is $1200 and installed price for POE Big
Blue 20” dual vessel is $1200 also. About 1/3 of the customers
have both. There are no receivables. Payment is made at
the time of service. All of the units are uniform so inventory
is simplified and reduced to basic filters and components.
This area has an extremely dense population in the most
desirable locations. Many of the homes are in the multi
million dollar range. The school systems are among the best
in New England attracting high income families. There is
only one other company in the area that sells the same system
(Hydrotech) I worked for them in the past and refer all
of my water conditioner sales to them. The 800-WATERTECH
number has also been established about 20 years. I retain
about 90% of every dollar in sales. I will be available
